The Chrome extension is a lightweight browser-only VPN that protects traffic within your Chrome browser. Unlike the full desktop app, it does not require system-level installation and only secures browser traffic. The desktop app provides system-wide VPN protection for all applications and services.
Yes, the Chrome extension will secure all traffic originating from your Chrome browser, including all tabs and browser-based applications. However, it will not protect other browsers or applications running on your system.
Chrome extensions are not supported on mobile versions of Chrome for iOS and Android. For mobile VPN protection, please use our dedicated EdgeVPN apps available on the App Store and Google Play Store.
The Chrome extension will be included with your EdgeVPN subscription at no additional cost. If you already have an EdgeVPN account, you will be able to use the extension with your existing subscription.
